If delighted and fair was my life
She would’ve been my doting wife
Whenever we’d have the slightest stride
I’ll cease it before it becomes rife
Holding hands we’d grow old allied
In a sweet little home by the countryside
Our faces turned wrinkly yet bright
Like a shining ray following a dark night
Writing our names with a carving knife
On an oak tree that’s old and white
Wouldn’t I be the happiest man alive?
To love you forever, in this and afterlife
Only if my fate, I could rewrite
Mend the time gone by and reunite
