Spicy Chicken Spaghetti

Here is my version of spicy chicken spaghetti that has a blend of asian and italian flavors cooked with juicy tomato sauce.

I have always loved italian cuisine. And I’m also a spice eater. So whenever I cook any kind of italian or chinese food, I end up making a spicier and yummier desi version of it. Here is my version of spicy chicken spaghetti that has a blend of asian and italian flavors cooked with juicy tomato sauce. Well, on contrary to other recipes, let me tell you why I always take bone in chicken for my spaghetti. Its because when you cook the chicken and veggies in tomato sauce, it makes it more flavorsome and the chicken broth makes the gravy juicier. But still you can use boneless chicken if you want. For veggies, I only added green capsicum but you can add carrots, mushrooms, cabbage or any other vegetable that you like in your pasta. One more thing, boil your spaghetti very well. I barely follow cooking time mentioned on the pack because I like my spaghetties soft and effortlessly chewable, not broken though. When it comes to cooking, there are no hard and fast rules and you should keep on experimenting with all the spices and flavors to create something new, better and yummier.

Ingredients

Spaghetti 1 pack
Chicken 6 to 8 pieces
Green Capsicum 2, julienne cut
Onion 1 , chopped
Green chillies 2 Long Slit
Parsley 1/4 cup, chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
Soya Sauce 1 tbsp
Thyme leaves 1 tsp
Oil 1/4 Cup

For Sauce
Tomatoes 2 Medium size, chopped
Salt 1 tbsp (or to taste)
Oregano 1 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp (or to taste)
Black pepper 1 tsp, finely crushed
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Vinegar 1 tbsp
Chilli Sauce 1 tbsp
Ketchup 1/2 cup

Preparation

1. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add 1 Tbsp Salt and 1 tbsp oil in it. Now add spaghetti and cook as directed on label, approx 12 to 15 mins, until soft. Drain the water and keep the cooked spaghetti aside.
2. Take a wok/pan and put oil in it. Stir fry chopped onions and ginger garlic paste in it for 3 to 4 mins. Now add chicken, soya sauce, salt and black pepper and stir fry until it turns light golden in color. Take out the chicken pieces and keep aside.
3. In the same pan with leftover oil, add chopped tomatoes and stir fry for 2 mins. Now add the rest of the ingredients for sauce i.e salt, oregano, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder. vinegar, chilli sauce and ketchup. Add 1/2 cup water and steep cook it for 3 to 4 mins on low flame. Now turn the heat to medium high and stir fry for 2 more mins. Your sauce is ready.
4. Combine the prepared sauce and chicken in a pot and add green bell peppers. Saute for about 3 mins on high heat then steep cook on low flame for 5 more mins.
5.Now Mix the boiled spaghetti in the cooked chicken gravy. Add thyme leaves and green chillies in it and Stir fry for at least 3 mins. Add chopped parsley and cover the pot. Cook on low heat for 5 more mins until all the flavours are blended in together.
6. Serve with chilli garlic sauce and french fries.

  1. Wow. That looks surprisingly amazing. I have always been a stickler on the way spaghetti should taste, but these ingredients just look perfect together. Can’t wait to give it a try!
